The PB200 30 A4 Plastic Binding Machine can be easily stowed away and is highly recommended for occasional private use. The binding quality is good, but the operation is not as uncomplicated as with the test winner. In addition, a 4-fold hole punch is integrated.
The PB200 30 A4 Plastic Binding Machine is almost identical in construction to the competitors of Genie and ProfiOffice. With the PB200 30 Plastic Binding Machine you can also make 4 holes. Thanks to a transport fixation, it can also be stored in a space-saving manner with the punch lever folded in.
The robust PB200 30 Plastic Binding Machine in white, orange and grey is mainly made of metal and hard plastic. With its 3.8 kg and its small dimensions, it is a handy device and very easy to stow away. Its rubber feet ensure that it hardly slips.
In my opinion, the punching power of 12 sheets stated by the manufacturer is legitimate. Up to 10 sheets can be punched very well at the same time, but the device makes a robust impression and even punches 12 sheets clean.
The binding device looks stable. Thus, the opening of the binding spine can be controlled precisely and safely. Unfortunately, the tines of the device are tilted a little too far forward. This ensures that there is only little space between them and the comb of the open spine for threading the sheets. To prevent the threading from becoming too tricky, it is advisable to use a slightly larger spine than recommended in the instructions.
Since the PB200 30 Plastic Binding Machine is relatively light, I often needed both hands to operate it. One for punching and one for holding the device. For a small number of sheets, the rubber feet were sufficient to hold it in place. If more force is needed, the device slips or is lifted.
Just like all competitors, except the test winner, the PB200 30 Plastic Binding Machine's lever arm is responsible for both binding and punching. This has the disadvantage that the two activities cannot be carried out simultaneously. When creating larger folders, it is not possible to thread in punched intermediate stacks immediately, but only when all the sheets have really been punched.
The paper guide of the PB200 30 Plastic Binding Machine can be set to DIN A4, A5, A6, and A7. For DIN A4 and DIN A5 paper, the paper guide works very accurately. With DIN A6 & A7 there were open holes at one end. This is the only device that clamps the paper stack on both sides. In this way, the sheets are held securely in the correct position. Before punching important documents, you should always check with lubricating paper whether the holes are punched in the right place. This is because even small displacements can ensure that the holes at the edge are open or that individual punched stacks are not flush with each other.
In my tests, it was possible to create clean punched holes. The binding also worked reliably. Even though it may be a bit tedious, the PB200 30 A4 Plastic Binding Machine can be used to create neat folders.
The machine has a punching waste compartment that catches the punched paper.
Included in delivery is the binding material, including comb and front and back, for 5 bindings.
