The MLC-2701 Curved Computer Monitor by Denver Electronics is particularly impressive with its high contrast ratio and high viewing angle stability. The colours also made a strong and natural impression to me at first. In direct comparison with the other screens, I only noticed how pale and partially washed out the colours are displayed on the screen. The colour representation is still not bad, but can't keep up with the competing products in the test. The monitor has two integrated loudspeakers, but I missed the height adjustment and more connection options.
The MLC-2701 Curved Computer Monitor from Denver Electronics is packaged in an information-printed package that is easy to open. The manual is available in English, German and many other languages, illustrated and clearly understandable. The contents are displayed on the 27-inch monitor in QHD (2560 x 1440). In addition to the operating instructions, the scope of delivery includes mounting accessories, a power cable and an HDMI cable.
To mount the stand on the screen, you need a screwdriver. To remove the stand plate, which is located at the back of the unit, press the button below the plate. The stand is attached to the stand plate with two 12 mm screws. The remaining 14 mm screws are used to attach the stand to the standing leg.
In order to be able to evaluate and subsequently compare the image quality, we have developed a test image. The image can be used to analyse contrast, brightness, colour representation and sharpness. The monitor has a very high contrast ratio. The colour blocks in our test image are clearly visible and can be clearly differentiated from each other.
The brightness of the screen is 250 cd/m². The colour blocks on our test image can be clearly differentiated from each other. In comparison with the other products we tested, it is clearly visible that the MLC-2701 Curved Computer Monitor from Denver Electronics has a lower luminosity.
Compared to the other screens, the colours make a rather washed out impression. If you look at the displayed contents exclusively on the Denver monitor, the colours initially make a natural and also strong impression. As soon as a second screen is placed next to it, it becomes clear how pale the colours actually are and how much stronger colours can appear.
Whether dynamic or still sequences, the images are displayed sharply and smoothly.
The monitor has a high viewing angle stability. Up to a viewing angle of 178°, the displayed contents can still be read from the screen. This applies to both horizontal and vertical viewing angles. The colors are still displayed true to the original, only the brightness changes a little.
The screen is not height adjustable and can only be tilted forward.
To enter the settings menu, press one of the five buttons at the bottom of the screen, excluding the "Power" button. You can adjust the brightness, color settings, backlight and OSD settings. You can also adjust settings for different games. There are also two built-in speakers on the back of the screen.
