Resumee

The AGON AG273QCG Gaming Monitor by AOC makes a high-quality processed impression. The screen impresses especially with its fast reaction time of 1 ms and the high refresh rate of 165 Hertz. The image quality is convincing with high contrast and a rich, strong and natural representation of the colours. It is to be criticized that especially when surfing the internet, monochrome areas sometimes appear coarse-grained. The displayed content is also clearly visible on the curved screen from different angles. In the settings, you will find many additional options to adjust the screen to your individual preferences and activities. The screen is also ergonomically impressive and can be swivelled and rotated in all conceivable directions, although the tilt angle could be a little higher.

Pro

  • High reaction speed
  • High refresh rate
  • Flashing angle stability
  • Many connections
  • LED ring

Commissioning

The one-click construction makes it possible to set up the PC screen in the shortest possible time without much effort. To turn on the screen, press the button located in the middle and underneath the monitor. Here you can choose between Displayport and HDMI.

Contrast

 AGON AG273QCG
The test pattern we developed.

To compare the image quality of the PC screen in our test, we have developed a test image. This image can be used to evaluate contrast, brightness and colour representation. The different colour blocks are easily recognizable and clearly differ from each other. There are no colour casts to be seen. The colours are displayed in a strong and saturated way. The colours appear very natural when people are represented. The contrast ratio is 1000:1 according to the manufacturer.

Brightness

The brightness of the screen is 400 cd/m². The different colour blocks on our test image can be easily differentiated from each other.

Sharpness

Basically, the displayed content, whether in motion or rigid, is very sharp and of good quality. It is noticeable, however, that when surfing the Internet, monochrome areas appear somewhat coarse-grained.

Viewing angle

front view.

View from the left side.

The content displayed on the screen is not only easy to read when you are directly opposite the screen, but also from different viewing angles. If you change your viewing angle horizontally to the screen, you will notice that the brightness and colours change only slightly. For example, if another person is sitting to the side of you, they won't have any difficulty recognizing what's on the screen. Only the brightness decreases a little and the white takes on a slightly yellowish cast. The colours will still be mostly true to the original. Only from a very high viewing angle does it become difficult to see the content clearly on the monitor. However, if you change your position vertically in relation to the screen, the colour image changes more clearly and a blue cast is quickly visible.

You can adjust the height of the monitor with a margin of 11 cm. You can also swivel the screen to the side and tilt it forward or backward as required.

Functions

 AGON AG273QCG

On the back of the device, there is an LED ring and an integrated speaker. In the menu, you can adjust the colours and speed of the LED ring.
