The Dymo LetraTag LT-100H can be rated as good overall. Advantages are the large display that shows the finished labels in full before printing and the handiness. It is a pity that the buttons are so small that the operation is sometimes not pleasant. The device is also not convincing in terms of printing speed.
The Dymo LetraTag LT-100H is designed purely for mobile use.
Dymo presents with this device an ABC keyboard. Unfortunately the keys are close together and small, so that the handling is complicated. Negatively, the packaging, which is made of a lot of plastic and is difficult to open, attracts attention.
The printing speed is very slow at 5 mm per second. Ribbons are only available in a width of 12 mm, but there are plenty of colours to choose from. On the negative side, the original ribbons are among the most expensive on the market compared to other ribbons.
The print quality is good and the resolution is high. In total there is only one font that can be chosen. However, italic, bold, underlined, with drop shadows etc. can still be changed. In addition, there are eight different frames and over a hundred special characters and symbols.
The display is clear and large. It shows the possible pressure in the preview completely so that long trying is not necessary. Umlauts can be written by pressing the vowel for a long time, as in many mobile phones. This makes operation much easier.
Accessories for use
The device requires four AA batteries. This results in a total weight of 385 g. It cannot be operated by electricity.
Nine label designs can be called up in the memory and can be retrieved even if there is no power supply.
The menu is available in German and other languages. The menu navigation is intuitive and clearly laid out, making it easy to find your way around. Also the included manual, which is a big piece of paper, contains all important information and is well structured. Even the functions of the marking machine are illustrated.
Dymo gives a two-year warranty with a proof of purchase.
