Resumee

The Libratone Track Air+ convince with their elegant, sporty design, firm fit in combination with light wearing comfort and good to very good sound. The app is useful, but not absolutely necessary to use the headphones. The firm fit is also ensured by the fact that the rubber attachments are supplied in 4 different sizes so that there is a size for everyone. A disadvantage of the Track Air+ is that they can only be connected to one device at a time. The noise-cancelling function is a plus point compared to other In-Ear headphones but is not 100% convincing.

Fixed headphones with a light weight, cool design and great sound.

Appearance and equipment

I have tested the Libratone Track Air+ in black. The "True Wireless" In-Ear headphones come in a sturdy illustrated box and make a high-quality impression.

Included in the delivery are:

  • In-Ear headphones
  • Hybrid silicone rubber ear pads, one pair each in sizes XS, S, M and L
  • USB-C charging cable
  • Charging case
  • Quick guide
  • Security and warranty card

Operating the headphones

The headphones are already preloaded so that you can start right away. To connect the headphones to your mobile phone, for example, simply place them in the charging case to activate pairing mode. The LED in the charging case will now flash white continuously. If it doesn't, press and hold the function key in the charger for 2 seconds to manually activate pairing mode. Now search for "Track Air+ Left" in your Bluetooth settings and connect.

Track Air plus

A pop-up will then appear, which you confirm to establish the connection between the left and right headphones. Now insert the headphones and turn them so that they are firmly in your ear, giving you a more secure fit.

gesture control

The headphones are then operated via your smartphone or via the gesture control. By default, tapping twice on one of the two earbuds start/pauses playback or accepts/rejects a call and tapping three times switches off the headphones. This assignment of the gesture control can be changed individually via the app.

In the app you can also manage other Libratone devices, see their battery status and be notified about possible software updates, which can then be performed via the app. You can also adjust noise reduction and sound settings. On the negative side, the app is only usable if it is on the device you are using the headphones with. For example, if you are listening to music on your tablet and want to change the sound or ANC settings, but only have the app on your smartphone, this is not possible. This is because the headphones can only connect to one device at a time.

Wearing comfort

comfort

earplugs

The headphones sit comfortably and very light in the ear. They are hardly noticeable once you have used them optimally. With the different attachments supplied, there is a suitable size for every ear. If you insert the headphones into your ear as described, they should also fit firmly. If they are too loose and slip out, try another attachment.

Sound

The Libratone Track Air+ have a good to very good sound. In general, bass, midrange and treble are well contoured, balanced and offer a clear sound. The bass is appealing and mids and treble are well balanced. However, at lower volumes, the sound lacks some richness.

sound settings

In addition, three different sound settings can be adjusted via the app: Neutral, Extra Bass or Enhanced High. You should definitely try these settings because you can hear a difference and find the best setting for your musical taste. For my part, I have found that the bass-heavy setting adds value to my electronic music taste. Pop songs, or songs in general, in which the vocals are in the foreground, sound a bit dull in this setting and can be listened to better in the neutral or treble-heavy setting.

Bluetooth

The Bluetooth stability is rather mediocre. At a distance of 8 meters and 3 lightweight walls as a barrier, the first dropouts occur. As soon as you get back into the Bluetooth range, the headphones connect automatically and the music starts playing again.

Telephony

No matter how you have configured the gesture control, an incoming call is always answered or ended by double-tapping on one of the headphones. The person you are talking to can be heard very well via Track Air+. He also understands you clearly and distinctly. Since the Earbuds have an Active Noise Cancelling function, any disturbing background noise is reduced and thus a clear conversation is possible.

Transport box

transport box

The transport box also serves as a charging station. The headphones are inserted into the notches, where they are assigned to the left and right and are held securely in the box by a magnet. The lid of the box is also closed by a magnetic mechanism.

The charging box offers the headphones up to 18 hours more battery life. This corresponds to a 3-fold charging of the headphones.

A micro-USB cable is included in the scope of delivery, with which the box can be recharged. This has a length of 103 cm. An adapter for the cable is not included.

Or rather with cable and suitable for the recording studio or home studio? Then our Studio Headphone Test would be something for you.
