Resumee

The Honeywell HO-5500RE is a solid model, which is equipped with numerous useful functions and several performance levels. Compared to the Clatronic fan, this model looks quite stable. Overall, the fan offers a good price/performance ratio. Only the oscillation angle could have been larger.

Pro

  • Modern appearance
  • Different modes
  • Strong wind power

Cons

  • Stand-by power consumption
  • Weak remote control
  • Small oscillation angle
  • High volume
A strikingly large and loud device with lots of wind power.

The Honeywell HO-5500RE is also a tower fan. With this model you benefit from a sleep mode and a nature mode.

Appearance

In comparison to the Clatronic white floor standing fan, this Honeywell model convinces with an elegant black colour scheme. Before using it for the first time, all you have to do is screw on the footrest, which was easy to do in practice. An extensive and illustrated manual is included.

Setting Options

The Honeywell HO-5500RE offers a variety of different modes and is even equipped with a remote control and a flexible timer. You can adjust wind intensity as well as rotation, timer and modes individually. An LED indicator shows you which setting is currently activated. It's great that there's a compartment for the remote control on the back of the unit. Unfortunately, this only works if you point it directly at the fan. On the other hand, there is the wind and the volume, both of which are very desirable.

Refreshment Levels

In addition to the three power levels, you can also activate a sleep mode and a nature mode. In sleep mode, the speed is automatically reduced, resulting in a quieter operating noise. If you look at customer reviews on Amazon, you'll notice that most customers don't recommend buying. The reason for this is that many of the devices showed a defect after only one year of use.

We have evaluated about 1400 reviews on the internet. In summary, it can be said that about 70 percent of buyers are satisfied (4 stars) or even very satisfied (5 stars). Partially (2 stars) or completely dissatisfied are about 20 percent of the users. The average score at the time of the evaluation was 3.9 out of 5 stars.
