The advantage of the TaoTronic - USB Laser Barcode Scanner is its light weight, easy handling and commissioning. Moreover, various programs and settings give plus points. The cable interferes with larger projects or rooms and the protective rubber slips off the handle. Also, the chemical smell leads to negative points.
The USB Laser Barcode Scanner from TaoTronics is self-explanatory and easy to use and comes with various settings and practical programs. It is also a lightweight, which makes it easy to work with it for a long time.
The packaging of the device is very simple, only a sticker indicates the contents of the box. A strong chemical smell is noticeable when unpacking.
The barcode scanner has an ergonomic handle for easy usage. Furthermore, it is connected with a cable and due to its plastic housing, it is a lightweight. The scanner is well manufactured and has a modern design. Rubber protection secures the device against shocks or impact. The disadvantage of this cover is, however, that it is too loose and always slips or slides during use.
In a few seconds, the device is ready for operation, only the cable has to be connected to the computer. The scanned barcodes are transported to open word processing programs or Excel. The connection is very easy and the scanning is self-explanatory (Plug and Play).
An advantage is the "Continuous Scan Mode", which allows the scanning of several products one after the other without having to press a button. The mode activates the laser continuously.
Also advantageous are various other modes and settings, such as setting the prefix or suffix. These settings remain stored even after the barcode scanner is switched off.
Unfortunately, the cable is a bit annoying, which makes it unmanageable for larger stores or large inventories. The cable can also only be removed with a pointed object, which is pierced at the end of the handle in a provided opening. This proved to be difficult in the test.
The operating instructions are kept simple and easy to understand.
