Product tester

The DJI Osmo Mobile 2 can only partially meet the expectations that the manufacturer promises. It stabilizes the recordings really well and delivers clean recordings, but in our test, we repeatedly had problems with parts of the gimbal appearing during movements at the edge of the picture. However, this varies from smartphone to smartphone. Overall, it's a good device.

  • Wobble-free images
  • Light

  • No tripod included
  • Gimbal in the picture from time to time

A good gimbal with clean shots, but also small disadvantages.

Particular feature

The DJI Osmo Mobile 2 has just three buttons on the front and simple, stylish design.

To use the Gimbal, you must first download the DJI Go App. Then you clamp your smartphone in the holder provided and balance it as well as possible manually with the help of the clamping wheel. When you now switch on the gimbal, your smartphone will be completely balanced.

The Osmo Mobile 2 does a good job and allows you to shoot absolutely shake-free. Even if you move and even walk a little, there are very few wobblers in the picture. With the included DJI Go App you can tell the gimbal which of the three axes the smartphone should follow your movements. The smartphone can be completely frozen and doesn't follow any predetermined activities. It can also follow only your horizontal movements or all your movements. During our test, horizontal movements to the left side of the picture resulted in parts of the gimbal appearing in the picture on the right side.

The device is able to take pictures in almost all directions. You can hold it upright to take pictures from above or point it downwards to film directly above the floor.

The App

The DJI Go App (old version for DJI Osmo series) is available in the App Store as well as in the Google Play store. First, you need to register with DJI. Once the app has started, it is intuitive to use and clearly arranged. It contains many useful functions and modes. You can recalibrate the gimbal or change its settings. There is also a variety of shooting modes such as standard mode, self-timer, panorama, time-lapse or motion time-lapse.

We have evaluated approx. 90 customer reviews on the Internet. In summary, it can be said that about 70 percent of the buyers are satisfied (4 stars) or even very satisfied (5 stars).
