The Polaroid POP 2.0 Digital Camera is a digital instant camera that has many different functions and can be connected to an app. Nothing of the typical retro design of an instant camera can be seen on this model. It's more like an iPhone, which can print pictures at the push of a button, but the quality is good to satisfying.
The Polaroid POP 2.0 Digitalkamera comes in a small package, but with a lot of extra content. The packaging contains not only the camera but also photo paper, stickers and photo frames. The Polaroid POP camera comes in a very modern high-tech design and is very similar to an iPhone instead of the typical instant cameras in retro style. We chose pink for this model. The camera itself is black, but the paper compartment cover is pink. The flash is right next to the lens. On the other side is the display, the shutter button and the power button. The first impression of the camera is very good.
Included in Delivery:
- Photographic paper
- USB cable
- Frame ticker
This camera is an instant digital camera with 20 MP. You can control this camera like a mobile phone or smartphone with the touch screen. Besides "normal" photography, there are many other settings (e.g. video, GIF, photo editing, mobile phone photo printing, etc.). There is also the possibility to extend the memory with a mircoSD card up to 128 GB.
This camera uses only Premium ZINK Zero Ink paper to print photos on 3.5 x 4.25 paper. It's easy to use and insert images. First, remove the magnetic paper tray cover to access the paper tray. The complete stack of paper goes into the tray. It is important to make sure that the blue color calibration sheet (located at the bottom) is facing down (toward the front of the camera).
The white side of the paper should face up. The blue ZINK color calibration sheet is automatically processed at the beginning of each paper packet and calibrates the printer for that particular paper packet. Before you start taking pictures, you should set the camera correctly. When you turn on the camera, there is a first little instruction on the screen that you can easily follow. The red shutter button serves as a power button as well as a classic shutter release. To focus the camera, press the shutter release button halfway. As already mentioned, there are countless adjustment possibilities. Besides videos and photos, one can also create GIFs of up to 3 seconds and edit pictures or videos live. In live mode, you can customize the photos with frames, filters, and stickers. If one goes under the menu item 'Gallery', one has the possibility to edit, rotate and draw saved pictures. If you want to print a photo, the process takes about 20 seconds until the image is completely out.
Status display: This shows the paper counter, battery status and WLAN.
In order to release more Polaroid POP usage options, you can also download the free Polaroid POP app (for iOS and Android). After the first test shootings it became clear that the whole camera works very well. If you connect the camera to your mobile phone, the photos will not be printed as well as they are shown in the preview. Due to the design, the camera scratches the surface very quickly. A protection or a bag would be useful here.
