The Soft Reservoir Hydration Bladder by Salomon scores with its weight and easy cleaning. Closing with the slider is a bit difficult. In addition, protection for the hose is supplied. The mouthpiece works perfectly but does not have separate protection or closure.
The Soft Reservoir Hydration Bladder by Salomon with 119g is the lightest in the test and allows easy cleaning.
The hydration bladder by Salomon is pleasant to use. To fill the bladder, the cap is pulled to the side. Practically, the slide is attached to a strap and is therefore not lost. The 8 cm opening is large enough to fill ice cubes into the bag. Closing, on the other hand, is somewhat cumbersome.
The drinking tube can then be attached. It simply snaps into the opening and can be removed again at the push of a button.
In addition, a protective cover is supplied which can be attached to any part of the hose. This protects the hose at the kink, for example over the shoulder.
We have carried out a taste test before and after cleaning. Even before the cleaning, there was hardly any plastic taste noticeable. After cleaning the bladder with Kukident-cleaning pills, no plastic taste could be detected.
For drinking, you have to bite on the mouthpiece. The liquid runs out immediately in an appropriate quantity and can be sucked out of the bladder to the last drop. The problem is that there is no extra protection or closure for the mouthpiece, which is why drinking is sometimes unhygienic. The mouthpiece touches the ground more often when the rucksack is put down. More often, the mouthpiece gets under the rucksack when the rucksack is put down, causing the water to run out. At the same time, however, there is the advantage that the drinking bladder can be operated with only one hand.
Cleaning the bladder is relatively easy thanks to the large opening. The bladder can be completely inverted and cleaned. The 4-5mm drinking tube is relatively narrow, but can still be easily cleaned with a tube brush.
The drinking bladder makes a good impression. The material is soft and flexible, so it can be rolled very small.
In our test, we froze the filled bladders. While the bladder was defrosted, we moved and shaken it to see if it could withstand transport. Salomon's product passed the test without any problems and is still ready for use.
