Practical in handling, but still room for improvement regarding stability and padding.

In summary, the TREKOLOGY - TREK-Z Collapsible Tri-fold Trekking Pole is easy to handle and has a small packing size. Another practical feature is that the bag can be opened to the side. However, it was noticeable that the poles are a bit wobbly and rattle. Furthermore, this model is only suitable for smaller people. Larger persons have to fall back on the larger version.
The TREKOLOGY - TREK-Z Collapsible Tri-fold Trekking Pole is supplied in a bag with buckle, which can also be used as a transport bag. The bag can be opened at the side to get better access to the contents. The accessories include:
- Hiking poles
- 2 different rubber buffers (shoes and round attachments)
- 2 different plates (mud plate and snow plate)
The folded sticks can be fixed with two velcro strips. Instructions on how to use the sticks are included. In it the mechanism is explained, but a table for the correct length to fit the body height is missing.
The materials are of high quality and appear robust. The handle has a cork trim and is otherwise made of plastic. There is a hand strap on the handle, which is not padded, but is made of a soft material. Towards the bottom the handle is extended with a foam, so that you can reach around in steeper areas and keep the pole shorter. The poles of the poles are made of aluminium. At the bottom there is a metal tip which can be covered by the different rubber buffers. With a thread the plates can be fixed before.
The hiking poles are put together like a tent pole. Inside there is a band that holds the individual parts together. You string all parts together and pull out the component with the white printed company imprint completely until a small pin snaps in. Then the poles are ready for use. The poles are adjusted telescopically. The clamp is released and the pole can be extended. A marking ensures that the pole is not pulled out too far. The poles can be adjusted continuously between 105 and 120cm and can therefore be used individually but still limited in size. A larger model is however available.
When the stick is extended, it is a bit wobbly in itself at the point where the pin comes out. If you shake the stick, you can hear it clattering a bit.
Folded up, these sticks are, compared to the other sticks, in the middle range and have a packing size of approximately 60 x 13 x 7 cm.
In order to test the walking sticks in use, we walked over various surfaces, such as paved stone floor, asphalt, sandy paths, softer meadow soil and up and down hills.
The material of the rubber pads hardly slips on stones. Only when the stick is set too diagonally.
The sticks clatter on firmer ground and you notice that they are not completely stiff. Nevertheless, it is easy to walk with the sticks and also uphill is no problem. Vibrations are not noticeable.
The hand loops are comfortable and do not scratch. It is not bad that they are not padded. A disadvantage, however, is that the cotter pin pulls out when you adjust the hand straps, as with the other model from TREKOLOGY.
The handles are easy to grasp and the cork is pleasant to the hand. The material of the handle can be slightly pressed in. It is a pity that the length can only be changed between 105 and 120 cm. People who are smaller than approx. 170 cm cannot use the poles well.
