360° View

High-quality rice cooker with practical additives, but only suitable for larger quantities of rice.

The device

The rice cooker is supplied in a large, illustrated and high-quality looking cardboard box.

This modern model is very large and has a capacity of 3 litres. Furthermore, this device has a removable, non-stick coated pot, an insert for steaming, a warming function, a high-quality inner pot, a spoon, and a measuring cup.

In addition, an operating manual is enclosed, which is understandable, but not very clear and appealing.

The rice cooker, like all other tested appliances, is very easy to operate.

All you have to do is add water and rice to the pot, and due to the automatic switch-off and the associated burn-on protection, you no longer have to worry about anything.

As soon as the rice is cooked, the appliance automatically switches to keep it warm.

Included in the scope of delivery:

  • Steam cooker insert
  • Rice spoon
  • Measuring jug
  • Instruction manual
  • Inner pot

The application

The handling of the rice cooker turns out to be very simple.

Before using the appliance for the first time, clean the various parts in warm rinsing water and allow them to dry. However, you should only clean the lid with a damp cloth and never put it in cold water.

In addition, the steam outlet of this rice cooker should also be removed and rinsed out with water before and after each use.

First, you have to measure the desired amount of rice (in this case 500 g jasmine rice) with the help of the supplied measuring cup. In this case, there were 4 measuring cups filled to the top.

For the amount of water, the water level indicator inside the pot should be used as a guide. In this case, one has to fill up the water up to 4 in the water level indicator.

Next, pour the rice into the inner bowl of the cooker and add the appropriate amount of water.

Then close the lid, connect the cable to the power supply and move the front control lever to the lowest position. Then the control light should light red and indicate COOK.

After switching on the device, it starts to make some strange noises, which is normal.

Until the water starts to boil here, it takes 6 minutes with the amount of 500g rice, after the rice boils 5 minutes, it starts to smell very pleasantly of fresh rice.

It is also possible to cook vegetables, meat and the like in parallel while rice is being cooked using steam. You will also find some helpful remarks in the operating instructions.

After a total of 22 minutes, the rice is ready to cook and automatically switches to HOT.

To get the best result, let the rice simmer for about 5 minutes, then switch off the appliance immediately and unplug it. Now you can open the lid carefully, but be careful not to burn yourself.

The consistency of the rice is a bit firmer compared to the other tested devices, but depending on your preference you can easily influence this by simply adding a little more water if you prefer softer rice.

The temperature at the edge of the lid is 60°C after the rice is cooked and 29°C at the rack.

Before you start cleaning, you should remove the power plug and wait until the rice has cooled down completely.

The same test was also carried out with Basmati rice, but here only with 150 g of rice. It was noticeable that during this test the rice was slightly burnt on the ground, which is why I would not recommend this rice cooker for small quantities.

In addition, the use of steam for steaming vegetables was tested. It worked perfectly.

Afterwards, you can clean the parts in warm rinsing water without any problems, but you should take care not to use aggressive cleaning agents in order not to damage the utensils. This appliance is not suitable for the dishwasher.
