The nice thing about the Marcato - Classic Pasta Machine Atlas 150 is that it is very well processed. As soon as you unpack it, you notice that it is a high-quality product. The operating instructions are written in a comprehensible manner, illustrated in informative language, and explain all procedures in such a way that they are easy to understand. The recipe in the instructions also produces a perfect dough. You have to determine the amount of water yourself, which is somewhat challenging when making pasta dough for the first time, but the result was still very good. Another positive aspect is that the material has not transferred to the pasta dough. The Mercato pasta machine was the only one in the test besides the GYD pasta machine whose pasta dough was completely free of metal residues. In addition, it is the only device that did not have to be screwed on for cleaning, the removal of the combs was explained in the instructions for use.

The device

The Marcato - Classic Pasta Machine Atlas 150 is completely plastic-free and packed in an attractive packaging. Two small cardboard boxes protect the device and the accessories. The pasta machine itself is made of stainless steel in a silver tone. When removing the device, the noodle machine feels stable and very well processed.

The cutting attachment is attached directly to the pasta machine, so there is no need to assemble the machine separately. Crank and table clamp are packed separately and must be attached to the respective holders for use.

The manufacturer assures a guarantee of 10 years from the date of purchase.

The application

The Classic Noodle Machine Atlas 150 should first be cleaned with a damp cloth to remove oil residues. Then you often roll a small piece of your dough through the roller to clean it. When you have finished, dispose of the piece of dough.

At the beginning of pasta making, your dough must be uniform. To do this, set the roll thickness to 0 by pulling the wheel slightly outwards and then turning it. Attach the crank to the intended position, place the dough in the roller and start cranking. It is advisable to spread the dough on a board so that it does not compress and stick. Once your dough has passed through the roller, sprinkle it with flour on both sides and fold it in the middle. Repeat this 5-6 times to make your dough nice and even. When you are done, set the roller one step higher to 1 and crank the dough through. You can dust it with flour from time to time to prevent it from sticking in the machine. This time do not fold the dough, but set the roller to level 2 and crank the dough through again. Repeat this until you have reached the desired dough thickness. According to the instructions for use, the optimum thickness for spaghetti is 7, but 5 was sufficient for testing.

When you are satisfied with the thickness of your dough, the cutting attachment is used. You can reposition the crank so that it is in the right holder for ribbon noodles or spaghetti.

Then pour your dough into the cutting attachment from above and crank at the same time. It is advisable to place a bowl or a second board under the machine so that the pasta is collected directly. What is noticeable with the Classic Pasta Machine Atlas 150 is that individual pasta sticks together and has not been cut sufficiently by the machine. However, this occurred only rarely and did not further disturb. The quality of the noodles was very good. After the dough has been cut and you have made the finished noodles, flour them and pluck them apart as thoroughly as possible so that they don't clump together. Then boil your pasta in salted water and serve with sauce. Enjoy your meal!

The cleaning

Cleaning a pasta machine takes a lot of time. Under no circumstances should the machine be placed in the dishwasher or washed with water! According to the instructions for use, it is advisable to use a brush or a wooden stick for cleaning. However, neither one nor the other is supplied. If you have neither of these at home, a rough cleaning with a kitchen towel will also work, but you won't get rid of all the dough leftovers. The instructions for use state that the sticks can be removed above the combs. Once this has been done, the combs can also be removed, which makes the cleaning process a lot easier. Although cleaning the machine is a time-consuming process, thorough cleaning is advisable, as any remaining dough hardens quickly and clumps and could shorten the life of the machine and make it difficult to use it properly.

How do you like this product?


I just cannot get the tagliolini rollers to work. The dough, no matter how hard it is, will not cut. It collects inside the machine and fills all the groves. How do I solve this problem? We are terribly disappointed, especially having read positive reviews.
In a few cases of our test, the pasta sticked together and has not been cut sufficiently by the machine. You could try to dust the machine with flour before preparing the dough. Otherwise, we could not find any customer reviews with similar problems, so we would suggest contacting the customer service of the manufacturer if you are not satisfied with the results.

I just unpacked my new pasta machine and read the recipe. How much water does the dough contain in addition to the 500g flour?
It is best to estimate at your own discretion. If the dough is still brittle, add a little water. Just give it a try. Better, the dough is a little too dry than too moist.
Has anyone ever made pasta without an egg with the machine?
Yes, it worked very well. The trick is to knead the dough of durum wheat semolina, water, oil and salt in the food processor for a long time at the highest speed and then let it rest.
