The Multicooker from Onepot did not convince us due to the numerous shortcomings in the test. The operation is anything but intuitive and has no steam pressure function. The shape of the cooking pot is unfavourable, the steam inlay is too small and the screwed lid also makes cleaning difficult. In addition, there are numerous safety deficiencies and recipes that can only be called up online.

The Multicooker from Onepot is difficult to clean and also the handling leaves much to be desired.

If you want to prepare your own recipe, you can also select the multifunction button (which is, unfortunately, the last one in the menu) and set both the timer (max. 720 minutes) and the temperature (max. 180°C) yourself.

The Onepot also has a keep-warm function that is automatically activated after a dish has been prepared.

In addition, there is a start time preselection for up to 24 hours with which you can start preparing the food without being present.

The multi-cooker is equipped with a timer and emits a signal at the end of the cooking time.

No recipes are programmed in the multi-cooker. On you will find step-by-step instructions for recipes. The program settings are mentioned in most recipes.

With the device, you can cook, fry, braise or stew food. Slow cooking and sous-vide cooking are also possible. The appliance has no steam pressure function.

The multi-cooker is the only one in our test that has a stirrer.


When the Onepot is used for the first time, it emits a strong chemical odour. This comes from the heating element, which cannot be cleaned, and disappears only after some dishes have been prepared. The first difficulties arise when preparing our first dish. Smaller quantities are rather difficult to prepare because the pot has a large curved surface. As a result, the oil runs to the sides and does not remain in the middle of the pot. The small amount of ingredients is distributed over the entire surface of the pot. Next, it is not possible to tell whether the appliance is already heated. Consequently, the temperature must be tested by trial and error.

Handling the one-pot multi-cooker is difficult. Already the operation of the menu leaves much to be desired. To select one of the 30 programmes, you have to click through the entire menu each time. Another drawback is the non-intuitive operation of the device. What's not clear is what the 3 lights under the saucepan mean.

It is not possible to set the time and temperature during the running process. This must always be done immediately after selecting the menu item. The temperature can be set in some menus and not in others. The same applies to the preparation time. Information on this can be found in the operating instructions. This means that it is necessary to check or try again each time whether a setting can be made in the selected menu item. If you want to change the program, you have to click through the whole menu again.

When cooking or steaming dishes, it is particularly noticeable to us that the lid is not tightly closed, whereby the hot water splashes out continuously. The entire control panel and work surface are affected. Thus, the device can hardly be operated and the display is difficult to recognize. There is also a risk of burns!

Another drawback is that the handle is located directly above the steam exit and must be turned to open it. Consequently, there is also a risk of burns here again!

Steam cooking with the steam inlay is also problematic. This is very small compared to the cooking pot, which limits the number of ingredients. In addition, it has the shape of a plate and therefore has no rim. As a result, the food falls into the steam water.

The Onepot has a condensation water tray, which is unfortunately of little use. A large part of the steam water runs down the device to the openings.

After preparing the dishes, the firmly screwed lid is fully covered with cooking splashes, as the saucepan is not particularly deep. However, it cannot be removed for cleaning.


Goulash (2 people)

In our test, the "Onepot" produces a rather poor result in the preparation of goulash. The preparation took a total of 70 minutes (10 minutes frying + 60 minutes stewing). In addition, there is the time required for heating up and the time required for cutting vegetables and meat. We have not been able to find an original Onepot goulash recipe online. The preparation was carried out accordingly on the basis of another recipe. The beef was then tough and the vegetables overcooked. Among other things, it can, of course, be due to the preparation. It's just a pity that a classic like a goulash is not included in Onepot's recipe selection.

Potatoes (600g)

We have chosen the steam cooking programme for the preparation of potatoes in the Onepot multi-cooker. We have distributed the peeled potatoes on the steam insert. Due to the size of the steam insert, it was unfortunately not possible to prepare the same quantity as in the other multi-cookers. At 600g, the multi-cooker is well utilized. The preparation takes about 20 minutes. In addition, there is a time for heating up. After this time, the potatoes are perfectly cooked. Unfortunately, we could not find any information about the cooking times of potatoes.

Salmon fillet (400g)

In our test, we also prepared salmon fillets according to the instructions of the multi-cookers. The salmon fillets are placed in the steam bowl and prepared under steam for 30 minutes. In our opinion, a few minutes less would be enough as the fillets were a bit too firm for our taste. We also didn't find any information on salmon and based our decision on a one-pot salmon recipe.

A cake from the multi-cooker? We have tested it. The brownie recipe on the Onepot website is a great success. You don't need a second bowl and the result is very good.

Cleaning the cooking pot is very easy thanks to the non-stick coating. There are no instructions for cleaning the saucepan or accessories in the dishwasher. The lid is difficult to clean because it cannot be removed.


The instructions are clear and easy to understand thanks to the symbols. Information on the cooking times of individual foods would be helpful. Unfortunately, there are no recipes in the manual. A recipe book cannot be purchased either.

We have evaluated 30 customer reviews on the internet. In summary, it can be said that about 80 percent of buyers are satisfied (4 stars) or even very satisfied (5 stars). Partially (2 stars) or completely dissatisfied are almost 15 percent of the users. The average score at the time of the evaluation was 4.4 out of 5 stars.
