The ice machine from Aicok is a machine that offers versatile functions, such as three different ice cube sizes and time setting. However, the timer function and operating instructions left a lot to be desired in our test.
The Ice cube machine by Aicok has a stable appearance and looks timelessly modern.
The ice machine has an LED light with the manufacturer's title "Aicok", which lights up in stand-by and operating mode. If the machine is in operating mode, the snowflake symbol flashes, in the standby mode it stands still.
The display shows: (1) Error display during production, (2) Low water level display, (3) Display of ice cube size, (4) Signal when ice container is full, (5) Timer display, (7) Time setting, (8) Operating mode (snowflake symbol).
The machine has several function keys in English: (1) On/Off, Standby (2) Select, for 3 ice cube sizes small/medium/large), (3) On/Off Timer, (4) Time.
You can fill up to 2.2 litres of water into the tank. The maximum filling quantity is marked by an edge in the water tank, which is, however, not particularly easy to see (as H-Max).
Before using for the first time, it is essential to use the self-cleaning program. This is simple and works in two steps, each lasting 5 minutes, as described in the instructions. The end of the self-cleaning process is indicated by a beep after approx. 10 minutes.
During the ice cube production, the already produced ice cubes are kept cool. When ice production stops, the ice cubes stored in the container melt. During continuous operation, a fill level sensor runs which automatically replaces the melting cubes with new ones. However, there is no cooling or storage function. In standby mode, the cubes melt approximately after 1-2 hours, depending on room temperature.
You can use (1) the SET key and (2) the arrow key to set the current time. In addition, the ice machine has a timer function to automatically start ice cube production at the desired time. Unfortunately, the timer function did not work for us - after several attempts - and is therefore rated by us as insufficient. We often set the timer independently of each other. The result was always the same: the machine did not activate itself at the desired time. It can only be speculated whether this is due to the tested device or the operating instructions in general.
Apart from the timer function and the poor operating instructions, the machine is generally quite easy to operate, as the symbols and function keys have been self-explanatory for us.
All in all, the operating instructions are bad to evaluate, because sometimes the individual function keys are not explained correctly, or the instructions are sometimes displayed incorrectly or insufficiently (only 1 example of many: it is mentioned that one should select the ice cube sizes, but not that this is done with the Select key).
The Klarstein Icemeister and the Aicok ice cube machine look very much alike at first glance. The Klarstein, however, has a white-silver design, while the Aicok is black-silver. In addition, the Aicok is a few kilos heavier than the Klarstein. Regarding the functions, both have no stand-by cooling and a timer, which doesn't work with the Aicok. The manuals are not very good for both machines. As far as the ice cube result is concerned, both produce good results, so it can be said that this is at most a design question as to which machine is best suited.
We have evaluated approx. 70 customer reviews on the Internet. In summary it can be said that about 70 percent of the buyers are satisfied (4 stars) or even very satisfied (5 stars). Partially (2 stars) or completely dissatisfied are almost 25 percent of the users. The average score at the time of the evaluation was 3.9 out of 5 stars.
