The Clatronic Cakepop-Maker is a very easy-to-use device that does what it should. The result of the cake pop balls is also impressive, whereby the balls rarely result in the desired round shape. Since the handle often gets too warm, you have to be careful not to burn yourself. The lid does not fit completely on the lower form of the device so that the balls partly do not become completely round. The device looks slightly unstable.

  • Accessories: 50 sticks
  • Simple operation

  • Handle heats up strongly despite thermal insulation
  • Control lamps flash during the baking time but have no meaning
  • When heating up, the oil partly swells over

A device with simple operation and good results, but with an unstable appearance due to the loose lid.

The device

The Cakepop-Maker CP 3529 by Clatronic comes in a modern design. On the lid, there are two indicator lights (red/green). The handle is thermally insulated to prevent burns to the hand. There is room for 13 cake pop balls on the baking surfaces.

Included in delivery:

  • Instruction manual
  • Sticks (50 pieces)

According to the operating instructions, you should not eat the finished cake pop cakes of the first two rounds yet. Before you start you should wipe the baking surfaces clean with a damp cloth and grease them afterwards.

The warm-up time for this appliance is approx. 4 minutes. Then the lamp lights up green and you can start pouring the dough into the mould. Small tip: It is best to use piping bags in order not to waste dough outside the moulds. For this test, a recipe was taken from the instructions (150 g sugar, 3 eggs, 150 g butter, 150 g flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder).

Since the appliance is in continuous operation, the dough should be added quickly. Otherwise, the first balls will be baked from one side only. Once the dough has been completely added, the top lid should be closed quickly. However, there is no proper closure for this, you only put the lid on the lower case. The baking time of the Cake Pop cakes is about 8 minutes. During the baking time, the control lights light up alternately red and green. However, this has nothing to do with whether the cake pops are ready or not. During baking, smoke was slightly visible. You have to check yourself and, if necessary, set the clock to see if the cake pops are ready. During this test, it was noticed that the oil was partially oozed out in front despite the smaller quantity. Despite the heat-insulated handle, the handle became very hot when the lid was opened, so it makes sense to use a baking glove or towel as protection.

After approx. 8 minutes you can carefully remove the finished balls. The sticks included in the package can be used immediately to remove the balls. The result of this test is satisfactory. Unfortunately, the balls are often much browner and crisper on the lower side than on the upper side. The shape of the balls is also slightly shifted. Of the 13 balls, only a few looked like really round balls, the others were more UFO-shaped.
