The Russell Hobbs Bread Maker Classics provides a good result and offers the usual functions of a bread maker. Unfortunately, no measuring cup, dough hook remover or measuring spoon is supplied with this appliance. In addition, the processing is relatively poor, which is noticeable in the appearance and by the incomplete closing of the lid.
The Bread maker Classics provides a good result but remains negative in memory due to the processing.
Handling and Function
The baking tin has a filling capacity of 2.7 litres. Breads of up to 1000 g can be made with it. The form can be filled simply, inserted into the automat by pressing and taken out again by strong pulling.
The bread maker is the only one that does not include a measuring cup, dough hook remover and measuring spoon.
The control panel is relatively easy to understand. The menu button on the control panel can be used to set one of the 12 programs named on the screen. The "Crust" button can be used to adjust the degree of browning in 3 steps. The timer can be programmed using the "+" and "-" keys. The size of the bread can be easily determined by pressing the "Size" button. The Start/Stop button can be used to start or stop the process. The appliance has no interior lighting.
Programs: Standard, French, wholegrain, cake, sweet, firm dough, jam, sandwich, gluten-free, fast baking I, fast baking II, specialty.
Using the timer function, some programs can be delayed by up to 13 hours, so that the freshly baked bread can be ready at 7 a.m., for example, if the ingredients were added at 6 p.m. of the previous day and the timer was set to 13 hours.
The memory function makes it possible to stop the baking process for up to 7 minutes (e.g. in the event of a power failure) without having to restart the machine. The process is simply continued.
The warm-keeping function switches on automatically for 60 minutes immediately after baking.
With the farmer's bread baking mixture a good result with a light brown crust was achieved. The duration was 3:15 hours. The dough was kneaded in the best way and was well risen. Otherwise, the bread tastes good and is easy to remove from the mould.
The pizza dough was also good. All ingredients were kneaded to a smooth dough within 1:30 hours. The pizza dough also rose well.
The baking tin is relatively easy to clean as the bread and dough are completely dissolved. Do not use abrasive or sharp cleaning agents to avoid damaging the non-stick coating. The dough hook must be soaked if the dough residues cannot be removed. The dough hook is suitable for the dishwasher. The instructions do not show whether the baking pan is dishwasher safe.
The device looks simple and cheap because it is poorly processed. The size of the display is sufficient.
The bread maker has a satisfactory instruction manual which quickly explains the functions and the handling. Unfortunately, the menu times are not given. In addition, it is not clear from the manual whether the individual parts are dishwasher-safe. However, it provides some good tips on various problems and examples of recipes.
