The Panasonic bread maker has some useful additional functions like the ingredient and yeast distributor and has very good instructions. However, the device also has many disadvantages. It is much heavier than other devices, needs more time for most operations and has no viewing window.
The Panasonic is by far the heaviest appliance in our test, but it scores with a practical ingredient dispenser and a yeast distributor.
Handling and function
The baking tin has a capacity of 3.3 litres and bakes breads of up to 1000g. The baking tin is easy to fill and can be inserted into the machine by turning it and removed again.
The control panel is only available in English but is easy to understand and intuitive to use. After a few baking operations, everyone should be accustomed to the operation.
On the control panel, the menu button can be used to set one of the 33 programs that can be found in the instructions or in the list stuck on the baking machine. In addition, stickers with the program list are sent in different languages, which can be attached to the appliance. The "Crust" button can be used to adjust the degree of browning in 3 steps. The timer time can be programmed using the arrow keys. With the "Size" button the bread quantity can be determined in 3 sizes. With the Start and Stop key the process can be started, paused or aborted. There is no viewing window.

Using the timer function, some programs can be delayed by up to 13 hours, so that the freshly baked bread can be ready at 7 a.m., for example, if the ingredients were added at 6 p.m. of the previous day and the timer was set to 13 hours.
The memory function allows the baking process to be stopped for up to 10 minutes without having to restart the machine. The process is simply continued.
The keep-warm function switches on automatically for 60 minutes immediately after baking.
With the farmer's bread baking mixture a good result with a light brown crust was achieved. The duration was 4:00 hours, making the Panasonic bread maker by far the slowest. The dough was kneaded to perfection and was well risen. Otherwise, the bread tastes good and is easy to remove from the mould. The dough hook can also be easily removed thanks to the hook remover.
The pizza dough is also well done. All ingredients were kneaded into a smooth dough within 45 minutes. The pizza dough also worked well. Compared to other machines, the Panasonic bread maker was able to produce the pizza dough twice as fast. But for the normal dough it takes 2:20 hours. Other devices are about 1 hour faster.
The baking tin is relatively easy to clean as the bread and dough are completely dissolved. Do not use abrasive or sharp cleaning agents to avoid damaging the non-stick coating. The dough hook must be soaked if the dough residues cannot be removed. The ingredient container can be removed and cleaned and the yeast spreader wiped with a damp cloth. There are no instructions for cleaning in the dishwasher.
The device looks high-quality but requires comparatively much storage space. If necessary, the device must be wiped more frequently to remove fingerprints from the stainless steel surface.
The size of the display is sufficient.
The bread maker has a very good manual which, thanks to its good structure, quickly reveals the functions and handling. The procedure is illustrated by many pictures. It also provides some good tips on various problems and many recipe suggestions.
We have evaluated almost 200 reviews on the Internet. In summary, it can be said that around 90 percent of buyers are satisfied (4 stars) or even very satisfied (5 stars). Partially (2 stars) or completely dissatisfied are about 10 percent of the users. The average score at the time of evaluation was 4.5 out of 5 stars.
