The Rosenstein & Söhne soda maker is a bit less easy to handle. Handles are hard to operate, excess CO2 is hardly released and the position of the case is a bit shaky. In addition, not all necessary supplies are included, e.g. CO2 cylinders have to be ordered separately. A good sparkling result, however, is also produced by this soda maker.
Scope of delivery
The Rosenstein & Söhne soda maker has a simple design, with a black case. Only the soda maker and a PET bottle are included. The CO2 cylinder and a second bottle, if desired, must be ordered separately.
The PET bottles have a sell-by date and must be replaced regularly. The PET bottles included in our scope of delivery are durable until 04/2021, therefore new bottles have to be purchased after 2 years.
Inserting the CO2 cylinder
To insert the CO2 cylinder you have to lay down the soda maker and remove the cap on the back by pressing the release button. Now remove the protective film and cap from the cylinder head and insert the cylinder. Then turn the cylinder clockwise and put the cap back on.
Inserting the PET bottle
At the beginning fill up your PET bottle until the maximum mark with tap water. Be careful not to fill it above the mark, as it may overflow when bubbling up. It is recommended to use cold water for a maximum sparkling experience.
To insert the bottle, the holder can easily be pushed forward and now you can attach the bottle to the nozzle and screw it into the holder.
For the sparkling you have to push the handle back for 2 seconds. You can repeat this procedure as often as you like until you have reached your desired bubble strength.
This soda maker is a bit less easy to handle. The cylinder is easy to insert, but already when inserting the bottle, it is unhandy to turn it in. Also the handle is a bit hard to operate. In addition, the soda maker has an unstable position and the excess CO2 is released very slowly from the bottle, so you can see how it collects in the bottle.
After sparkling once to maximum bubble strength, the soda maker consumes 10 g of gas.
The water bubbler produces a good sparkling result. The bubble strength can be adjusted individually by operating the handle and at maximum sparkling intensity you get a Classic strong sparkling water. If you want a medium strong water, it is more difficult to regulate with this soda maker than with other test devices.
After the water has been in the fridge for 2 nights, there are still a lot of bubbles in the water.
