360° View

Multifunctional device with little power and poor epilation performance.

The epilator of Philips is especially remembered for its poor epilation performance.

Epilation on the leg
The rounded shape is unsuitable for epilation on the tibia

The Philips epilator has a 32 mm epilation surface. It is the smallest in the test. The epilator has a rounded shape that adapts well to the leg. For the epilation of the tibia, this shape is rather counterproductive, as the epilator fits poorly on the leg.

Epilation with the Philips device
On other skin surfaces the shape adapts well to the skin

The epilator lies comfortably in the hand and also switching between the steps is easy. In addition, the different attachments can be changed quickly. Thanks to the workmanship, all parts can be cleaned under water. The cleaning is a bit difficult, because compared to other devices the epilation head is not completely free and the hair under the roller cannot be taken out.

Epilation result

Philips epilator cleaning
The cleaning of the device is difficult because the depilation roller is not accessible from all sides

The epilation result of the Philips device is rather disappointing. The hair was only partially captured by the tweezers, which are supposed to be more handy and gentle. The LED light is a bit too dark, but still it helps to recognize the hair.

The other attachments for epilation make the epilation much more pleasant. For example, the attachment for facial epilation allows you to cover smaller areas. Especially if you are epilating for the first time and therefore do not have so many hairs torn out at once, the attachment is helpful. Philips also supplies a shaving head and trimmer. In addition a peeling brush, which feels very pleasant and should help against ingrown hair. The massage attachment makes a weak and impulsive impression. In the test, however, it does a good job and continues to rotate strongly even under pressure.

Philips epilator and attachments
The Philips epilator comes with many attachments

According to the data, charging the battery takes 1.5 hours. We charged the epilator for one hour after it was completely empty and then tested how many minutes it would take until it was completely discharged again. Without resistance and at the lowest level, the epilator lasted over 2 hours. According to the manufacturer, the epilator should last 40 minutes, which was proven in the test.
