The Brown - Satin Hair 7 Curler CU710 is an eye-catching product and contains some extra features that make the curler stand out. The device is adjustable between 125°C and 185°C. Its IONTEC feature is not directly recognizable. In addition, the heating cylinder is made of ceramic to protect the hair from excessive drying. This curling iron can be used to style medium to large curls and is primarily designed to style the hair gently and carefully.
The Braun - Satin Hair 7 Curler CU710 is delivered in a practical black qualitative packaging. The scope of delivery includes the curling iron and the operating instructions. The curling iron has a black and silver design. It shows a ceramic coating, a plastic handle, a green button for ion release and two temperature switches. A small display indicates the adjustable temperatures between 125°C and 185°C. The unit also incorporates Satin-Ion technology to restore the moisture balance of the hair.
In order to give a detailed insight into the product and its range of functions, the overall impression, temperature control, ergonomics, price/performance ratio, and curl result were compared and evaluated. For the test process, we set the highest temperature level, which is 185°C. The heating time is approx. 45-60 seconds. On the display, the temperature is not shown as a number, but in bars which covers different steps from minimum to maximum. The device also contains a clamp on the heating cylinder, which allows the individual strands to be fixed when curling. In terms of handling, the curling iron is ergonomically designed and the material is rather rough and slip-resistant. The heating cylinder has a circumference of 8.5 cm. With this curling iron, it is possible to style medium but also large wavy curls. By pressing the green button the device releases a current of negatively charged ions at the push of a button. These ions should be placed around each individual strand and neutralize the positive charge in the hair, thus avoiding frizz and static. During the test, however, no difference was noticed when this green button was pressed. Also at the hair, no difference was to be determined whether this appeared shinier. Despite this, the result shows well-defined curls.
The Braun curling iron is in a medium price range. In its format, the operating instructions are structured like a newspaper but are very confusing and impractical.
When using, make sure that the hair is only curled when dry and that no hair styling products are used before wrapping so as not to damage the hair more. The manufacturer grants a warranty period of 2 years.
