A great device that leaves nothing to be desired.

The device

The Philips - ProCare Auto Curler HPS940/00 is delivered in a plain black and has gold accents on the head. It is constructed like a hairdryer. The head contains the Pro Titan engine and the curl chamber. On the handle, the time can be adjusted as well as the temperature. Further, the device can be switched on with the ON/OFF switch there. This condition is indicated by the control light. The button for automatic retraction is located at the top of the handle, directly below the button the curl direction can be adjusted. The device also has a special anti-tangle function. The 2-metre mains cable is connected at the bottom of the handle. A cleaning tool and a strand divider are supplied for long service life.

The packaging of the product is also black and filled with information and pictures. This contains the warranty card, safety instructions, and operating instructions. The instruction manual was written in 16 languages, but unfortunately, it is very confusing because of the unfolding.

Included in the scope of delivery:

  • Curler
  • Cleaning tool
  • Strand divider
  • Power cords
  • Instruction manual
  • Guarantee card
  • Safety notice

The application

In order to prepare for the use of the Philips - ProCare Auto Curler HPS940/00, your hair should be free of burrs, dry and the device should be set correctly by you in advance. The tester's settings were 210° at 12 seconds.

In the beginning, you should connect the curler to the power socket. Heating up takes about 30 seconds. During this time the curler releases a chemical odor, which disappears after a short time. The control lamp flashes while the curler is heating up. When it is still, the appliance is ready for use.

Your hair strands can have a thickness of about 3 cm, so you should separate them well from the rest of your hair. You should turn the device during use so that the ceramic coil always faces your head. You can then place your strand in the intended recess and push the curler to the point where the curl should begin.

When this is done, press the pull-in button and your hair will be pulled in automatically. The pulling in is very pleasant and does not cause any pain. This process is also very quiet. You press the button until the device has completely retracted your hair and even when the beeps sound. You can only release the button when the coil makes a click sound and releases your hair. You can then simply pull out your strand.

Another plus is the anti-tangle function, which stops the device automatically and allows you to remove your strand easily and without pain.

Overview: Automatic Curling Iron

How do you like this product?

If your hair gets caught, can you get it out of the device again or do you have to cut it off?
I also got a strand of hair caught during the first use, but the device then switches off and I was able to pull the strand back from Curler with a little pressure without any problems or damage.
Does it also work with natural curls?
There is nothing more to be seen of natural waves afterwards.
